Holly and Ivy

Okay, I know the name is corny!  My inspiration for these dolls came from those cute Barbie and Kelly sets that come out every Christmas, and as I crocheted the dresses, the colour of the thread reminded me of Holly berries.

"Holly" is actually a Butterfly Art Teresa.  Her gown was made based on the Summer Elegance Bride pattern found in the January/February 1999 issue of Annie's Crochet Newsletter, and was crocheted using Clea thread.  Her jewelry was made using glass and seed beads.

"Ivy" is a Paula doll, which is a Kelly knock-off I found at a toy store chain.  Her gown is also made with clea thread.  The pattern I used is the angel doll ornament  designed by Kim Burie and featured in the Summer 2000 issue of the Custom Dolls e-zine.  I adapted the pattern to match Holly's dress.
