MY DOLL COLLECTION
The next step to crocheting for fashion dolls was that I began to collect dolls as well. In some ways this was a return to childhood, as playing with Barbie was one of my favorite things to do. On this page are some of my favorite dolls in my collection.
Dreamgirl in Lavender
I was lucky enough to receive this doll for my birthday from my friend Kim of Northern Belle Dolls. Kim is a very talented doll customizer. Click on the picture of the Dreamgirl and you'll be taken to her site. It's well worth a visit.

PJ
This 1969 Twist and Turn PJ is one of my best garage sale finds. I think I only paid one or two dollars for her. She needed a good bath, and someone had given her a minor haircut, but otherwise she's wonderful! The outfit is a homemade one I found at a toy show. I thought it fit the era this doll is from well.

SKIPPER
The second of my vintage dolls, this is a straight leg skipper from 1964. She is wearing "ship ahoy."

FRANCIE
After wanting one for a long time, I finally purchased my first (but hopefully not last) Francie. She is a 1965 brunette straight-leg. She is wearing a homemade dress I bought at the same time as her.
The above doll represents two separate ebay purcahses. The doll is a Midge repaint by Kim of Northern Belle Dolls. The gown, called "Coronation," was made by a talented ebayer who enjoys creating unique fashion doll costumes. To see if Barb has any other gowns for sale, click here.
