SHELL STITCH AND PICOT SCRUNCHIE

                        Supplies:

                        Large pony elastic

                        Small amount worsted weight yarn or bedspread weight thread

                        Crochet Hook Size H (5.0 mm)

                        Abbreviations:

                        DC =  Double Crochet

                        SC =  Single Crochet

                        Special Stitches:

                        Beginning shell:  Chain 3, 2 DC, chain 2, 3 DC

                        Shell:  3 DC, chain 2, 3 DC

                        Picot:  SC, chain 3, SC on top of previous SC

                        Row 1 - SC around elastic to cover (I did 34 stitches for the yarn and 90 for thread).

                        Row 2 - Beginning shell in first stitch, (skip one stitch, shell in next stitch) around.

                        Row 3 - Slip stitch to first chain 2 space.  Picot in each chain space and in the middle stitch 

                        of  each 3 DC grouping.  Join with slip stitch to first SC. 

                        Finish off.
